Birth to Now

Born in Missouri, only had a brother 'till I was 3,

Then, my mom had a new little sister for me.

Not long after my sister was born,

The closeness to my dad's side of the family was torn.

We moved to Linton so we could be

closer to my mom's side of the  family.

Stages of life drag slowly by,

Until the end nears,

Then they fly.

Head Start, then Kindergarten,

At age 5 my schooling had started.

Going to school was so much fun,

I tried to make friends with everyone.

Stages of life drag slowly by,

Until the end nears,

Then they fly.

Elementary to Jr. High,

It was a big transition for my friends and I.

Arguments and drama filled everyday,

In this place I did not want to stay.

Project Asia, 9/11,

Both took place during grade seven.

Eighth grade slowly dragged by,

until the day we graduated on to the Senior High.

Stages of life drag slowly by,

Until the end nears,

Then they fly.

Freshman, underclassmen,

New place, more people, and harder classes.

Looked down upon by the older kids,

We encountered hostility, but had no idea what we did.

Sophomore, second year of basketball,

My coach had me enthralled.

Year full of friends and fun,

With so much homework to be done.

Junior, began my first job,

My head begins to throb.

So little time left in high school,

So much stuff left to do.

Senior, applications for college,

My head is filled with so much knowledge.

School, papers, and work,

The thought that school is almost over makes me smirk.

Until the end nears,

Then they fly.
