Greene County Landmarks is a research project based upon landmarks located in Greene County, Indiana. As information about many of the landmarks was difficult to locate or not available, the students in the Computer Applications and Vocational Business classes at Linton-Stockton High School set out to learn more about the county in which they live.
Students conducted personal interviews along with researching newspapers and books to compile the reports. The information found on the Internet was written during the 1996-1997 and 1997-1998 school years.
This project originated in 1984 as part of the activities of Office Education Association (known now as Business Professionals of America). Information about 12 sites was researched and presented in booklet form. As the result of their efforts, the members of the Linton-Stockton Chapter received the coveted American Spirit Award, the highest OEA chapter award, presented by the United States Air Force at the National OEA Conference held in Indianapolis, Indiana.
