Dear Parents and Guardians,

Linton-Stockton Schools received a GEER (Governor’s Emergency Education Relief) Fund Grant.  One purpose of the grant funds is to provide off-campus access to reliable high-speed internet. With our allocation of the grant, we were able to purchase T-Mobile Hot Spots to provide to families.  A hot spot is a portable device which will make it possible to secure an on-line connection.

As a 1:1 school with all students having access to a Chromebook, internet connection is an important component to school success.  These hot spots are now ready to be dispersed to Linton-Stockton families for student use.   The devices we purchased have a 24-month contract for data.  To preserve the data, they will be turned off during the summer months and because they were accessed through a grant will not be replaced once the contract expires.

The hot spots will be assigned, one per family as long as our quantity last.  To order your hot spot just call Heidi Rehmel at 847-6024 ext. 4500 and your hot spot will be prepared for you.  It can then be picked up at the front entrance of the high school between the hours of 8:00am and 2:30pm.   We are not able to send home devices with students as the parent or guardian must sign an acknowledgment receipt.

We are grateful to have received the GEER Grant and be able to offer this service to your students.   Up to five devices will work off of the hot spots at any one time.  We are confident it will make homework time, eLearning, and remote learning much more effective.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kathy Goad
